Recovery Process Under Section 101
Under chapter 8A of the Maharashtra Co-operative Societies Act, 1960, the procedure for issuing recovery certificate is mentioned under section 101. This recovery process is necessary to safeguard the principle of “financial participation of members”. A co-operative society can provide benefits to all members only if its members adhere to financial discipline. As part of the “Digital Maharashtra” initiative the Department of Co-operation is computerizing recovery procedure. In this online system all co-operative societies can submit their proposals sitting in their office without any hassle. The Deputy Registrar concerned will scrutinize the submitted proposal and records observations. Subsequent proceedings will also be recorded in the system and the concerned officer of the co-operative department will issue the recovery certificate to the applicant organization through the system. It is anticipated that using this portal employees of the co-operative societies will not only be save their time but, the overall cost of recovery process will also reduce considerably.
